The US Government and the State of Plush

Please see this link and this link regarding how the United States Government is planning to protect children from toys.

Not to say I don't agree with protecting children from mass-produced, plastic, singing/dancing/mind numbing monstrosities called "toys," but these plans will effect all toys on the market including the ones that I and many other talented artists create.

Awww SLC Studios is the best!

Over at the Plush team, we had a plush gift exchange and then were challenged to write up a story for the items we received. SLC Studios made the abso-most cutest little comic with the gifts I sent her.

6 Random Things

The wonderful Chicken Pants creator, Absolutely Small, tagged me to list 6 random things about me. Since I'm slightly ahead of my work schedule, I'm going to fill these out.

1. I'm not done holiday crafting at all. :( Next year, I'm going to start in September! Ugh the stress. The stress!

2. I'm a big time World or Warcraft nerd. I'd play it more, but I'm always a slave to my Moon Bun masters. My main is a Blood Elf Warlock. For the Horde!

3. I collect holiday music cd's. My favorite is A Christmas Together by John Denver and the Muppets.


4. I majored in Creative Writing and specialized in writing scripts for comic books. Sadly, the only thing I've had published is pornography. (No! I'm not telling you what it was, you'll just have to do some super sleuthing.) I'd love to have my children's comics published one day.

5. I hate taking photos. I'm the most un-photogenic person on the planet, so you will likely never see a photo of me, ever. I just don't take them.

6. I think laundry is the most tedious chore of all. There's so much waiting for things to get done. I'd prefer to scrub things anything to keep moving, but with laundry, patience is a must.

Holiday Cards

This Holiday Season, the Moon's Creations shop is pleased to offer holiday cards!
They feature a darling illustration of Snow Moon Buns by the artist Kenko, who created the Moon Bun illustrations that grace the shop.

The cards are for sale $6.50 for a set of 4. They are printed on white high quality, chlorine and acid free matte cardstock consisting of 30% post consumer waste and 50% total recycled fiber.

Cards measure 4.25" X 5.5" in size and include matching white envelopes. The inside is of the cards are blank for you to write your own holiday greetings. They are packaged together with a pale blue satin ribbon.

An apelike cryptid said to inhabit the Himalayan region of Nepal and Tibet, the Abominable Snow Moon Bun, or Yeti, decided to make a rare appearance for the 31 Amigurumi in October series.

He's the twenty-ninth design for 2008's 31 Amigurumi in October.

Chupacabra Moon Bun

Chupacabra is a legendary cryptid rumored to inhabit parts of the Americas. The name comes from the animal's reported habit of attacking and drinking the blood of livestock, especially goats.

It is the twenty-eighth design for 2008's 31 Amigurumi in October.

Kraken Moon Bun

From the dark depths of the ocean arises the mighty Kraken Moon Bun!

Kraken are legendary sea monsters of gargantuan size, said to have dwelt off the coasts of Norway and Iceland. The sheer size and fearsome appearance attributed to the beasts have made them common ocean-dwelling monsters in various fictional works.

It's the twenty-seventh design for 2008's 31 Amigurumi in October. (It was supposed to be the 28th, but I kinda forgot to upload the pictures of today's Moon Bun to this computer. d'oh!)

Kappa Moon Bun

Kappa are legendary creatures from Japanese folklore.

They are mischievous troublemakers. Their pranks range from the relatively innocent to the more troublesome, such as kidnapping children. Even today, signs warning about kappa appear by bodies of water in some Japanese towns and villages.

He is the twenty-sixth design for 2008's 31 Amigurumi in October.

Goatman Moon Bun

As a child, growing up in Prince George's County, Maryland, I was terrified of the Goatman, so I had to commemorate him in the 31 Amigurumi in October series.

The Goatman is a hominid cryptid most commonly associated with Maryland in the USA. It is described as a hybrid creature; part man and part goat. Its appearance is similar to the satyrs of Greek mythology.

The Goatman of Maryland is often associated with Governor’s Bridge Road, Lottsford Road and Fletchertown Road, in Prince George's County, and with the nearby Glenn Dale Hospital, the former site of a state tuberculosis sanatorium. It is reported to have attacked a number of witnesses and to have damaged property.

He is the twenty-fifth design for 2008's 31 Amigurumi in October.

The Beast of Gévaudan Moon Bun

Also known as La bête du Gévaudan. It was a man-eating wolf-like animals that terrorized the former province of Gévaudan, in the Margeride Mountains in south-central France from 1764 to 1767.

It's the unlikely heroes of the Zombie Apocalypse, Shaun and Ed Moon Bun. How's that for a slice of fried gold?
